History of Air France
Air France came about in 1933 as a result of a merger of five small airlines. The Airline currently operates a fleet of over two hundred aircraft made up of various Airbus models and Boeing 777-200ER and 777-300ER aircraft.
Dutch airline KLM and Air France merged in 2003 and became known as Air France-KLM. The merger saw the company become the largest airline in the world based on operating revenues. Air France is the official airline of the Cannes Film Festival.
Operating the Concorde
Together with British Airways, Air France built and operated the supersonic Concorde until ceasing operations in 2003. This was a result of higher fuel and maintenance cost as well as a drop in demand after the July 2000 crash of Air France Concorde F-BTSC.
